About Hypnotherapy

 

Hypnotherapy is an altered state of consciousness which results in a deeply relaxed state with significantly enhanced concentration and focus. Hypnosis is a healthy and normal state which occurs naturally in people during their daily lives, and usually goes unnoticed. 

 

Hypnotherapy is a way of bringing about a person's natural trance state and working with subconscious thoughts, feelings and experiences.  By allowing yourself to wander in your thoughs you can access that space which is not always at the forefront of your mind, but is always working in the background (some people call this the subconscious).

 

Hypnosis is not the same as being asleep.  It is a state of deep relaxation which is physically real - your breathing slows and your muscles relax; and is psychologically real - your brainwaves change measurably as you process things differently, you become aware of different things which may be real or imagined, and you can play things out in your mind.

 

Whilst you remain in control, you become more open to suggestion and we can work with these suggestions to begin making the changes that you desire.
