Whoever you are, whatever you do, wherever you do it - stress is a part of your life as much as eating and breathing. Stress can be a really positive factor in our lives as it gives us the buzz and motivation we need to enjoy life to the full. It can be the driving force behind our successes and adventures, and can keep us going when things get tough.
However, sometimes life can be very challenging. Things don't always happen as we expect or would wish for - from big events like redundancy or divorce, to the relentless little daily hassles that just keep on coming. When life gets on top of you and there are not enough hours in the day, not enough days in the week, and too many difficult demands coming your way, then stress can take on a more sinister role.
Everybody respods differently to stress. Some people notice that they feel constantly tired , cross and irritable, or inadequate. Others feel fine and seem to ride it out - except for those niggling joint pains or digestive problems, headaches or other physical ailments that don't seem to have an explanation or cause. Sleep, weight, health and relationships may all suffer under stress.
